I have a 6mm/284 and I'm trying to find new 284 unprimed brass for it, but I'm having a hard time locating some. I can find 6.5/284 brass but I'm not sure if the 6.5/284 brass is just necked down from 284 without shortening the case and changing the shoulder angel.
Normally when I get new 284 unprimed brass I first neck it down to 257 and then take it down to 6mm using my FL resizing die. This does not shorten the case or change shoulder angle.

So my question here then is could I use the 6.5/284 brass, which I can get, and just run it in my FL sizing die and bring it down to 6mm and be ready to load some ammo? And also, if I can use the 6.5/284 brass, which would you recommend, Lapua, Norma, Hornady, or something else???

You should have no issue necking 6.5-284 down to 6mm, though using a bushing die and doing it in 2 steps instead of 1 is better.

If your chamber was cut for WW Super, I think the Lapua is going to fit awful tight in the back.

I don't know much about the Norma or Hornady - other than them costing as much as Lapua... which is why I've never bought them.

WWS 284 brass is, and has been, unobtanium for a while now. Since before the crunch.

I have no issue necking down from 6.5 brass. Works just fine! I prefer Lapua, but right now I'll take anything i can get a Holt of.

What twist you have? What projectiles you shooting?

I have a 1in 10 twist and I shoot 100 gr semi pointed Sierra bullets. I usually shoot 50 gr of 4831 or 56 gr of H870, both shoot very good.

This gun has a Douglas premium air-gauged barrel that was 30" long until I shot the throat out of it and now I had 4" cut off so it is 26". A Mauser benchrest action with double set triggers, a 15 power Unertl Ultra-Varmit scope. The gun is 18 lbs. I have killed between 70 and 80 groundhogs at 1000 yds with this gun. It shoots pretty good, as long as the guy behind it can shoot it.
Any other info that you want please don't hesitate to ask.
