I have an old 6MM Remington (.244) made in the late 60's. It is obviously a factory gun with no improvements or modifications and shoots (around 1 MOA at 100 yds) well and I wanted to shoot it more and start reloading for it. The dies are not the issue I am running into, its the cartridge components. Specifically the brass. I have bullets. I have powder. But I cannot seem to find any brass anywhere specifically made for the old, plain-Jane, 6MM Remington (.244).

Where do I find brass? Every thing seems to be 6XC, 6CM, 6BR, 6AI, etc. This brass has different dimensions, thus should not chamber in my gun. I don't have a second gun/barrel to blow out brass either. I would think this would ruin any barrel that you were hoping to continue to use going forward.

What am I missing here? Any suggestions? Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

I had a 6REM, having it done into a 6Creed. Ive got couple hundred loaded rounds of 6REM, now I have to pull all those bullets and then what do I do with the brass? Must've about 300 brass, give or take.

6mmRem/.244 brass is difficult to obtain right now - just like ALL other brass.

However, it is not rare or obscure. In fact, it was a stocking item at my local Cabelas, WELL INTO the "crazy". It was in fact, one of the last remaining headstamps in stock.

Keep on the lookout and you'll get some.

That said, a local friend of mine just got out of 6mmRem to switch to 6mm BRX, so I'll ask him if he wants to unload his stuff. I'll PM you if it seems like a go.

Good shooting.

It's out there, no harder to find than .243 or many many other calibers, you just have to do online searches every day and register yourself on several sites to notify you when they come in, I'm sure you can scrounge up a couple hundred in a week or so, keep after it.
