I have a super souped up Mosin nagant and my gunsmith tested the rifle and here were the results. I personally haven't gotten a chance to fire it yet

That was with Winchester white box at 100 yards . I am hoping to work a handload up for this rifle but know very little about long range ballistics. The only reloading I have done was some .45 ball ammo a while back.I was curious if you had any suggestions. The barrel has a 9.5 twist rate. I think the Finnish actually chambered these for 7.62x53r which is essentially the same thing as 54r. I would greatly appreciate any help!

I did order some Sierra Match King .311 174gr bullets at the suggestions of a guy on another forum. As well as some match primers. Thanks for any help!

Im not questioning your experience or mistrusting your information sir, but why is that powder best? Is that just what you have found best through trial and error? I am trying to understand the reason so if later down the road I need to tweak the load I know what to do for specific reasons.

Also thanks for your helpful and feedback I greatly appreciate it!

i have a mosin , i use that load. If you check out the surplus rifle forums you'll find allot of people use that load. It's probably the most common accurate load for mosins. It's also at the top of a powder list i checked out for that cartridge and bullet (based on velocity and case capacity).
