I didn't want to hijack a thead, so I'll just start a new one. Thinking about doing a 7 SAUM build on a Savage short action that could be dropped in my existing Mcrees Savage SA stock. I can get a Criterion prefit with a .321" neck and .090" freebore. Would this work with the 162 amax in the longer Alpha type mag boxes? The neck dimensions seems excessively large and the freebore excessively short to what I'm seeing in current builds, but then again most on going the 180 route, but I have no problem running the 162. Thanks.
