I got a great deal on a 1985 Rem 700 BDL heavy barrel .243 about 11 years ago. I got the deal because it had a chunk out of the stock which has always bothered me. So after a decade, I finally got around to fixing it. Not perfect, but it is my first repair job.
I removed the sling stud to work, thinking it would be exposed when I was done. The patch slightly covers it, and while I have an idea where it is I don't want to drill a hole in the wrong place.
Can someone with a BDL please measure in a straight line from the screws holding the plate under the grip area and tell me the distance from the middle of the rear screw to the middle of the swivel stud?
Thank you very much, I appreciate it!!
