700P trigger

I thot some people reported that Rem has moved back to the 40X trigger for this particular model. My dealer just confirmed that theirs has the X-Mark Pro trigger.

Any idea what's going on?

I know they still put the connector style trigger in the 770, but I have been confused on their nomenclature for the 40X trigger. In the past it has meant a connector style with externaly adjustable pull weight. I am not sure if they are calling the new X-Mark Pro with external adjustment a 40X trigger or not? Basically the only difference between 40X trigger and the standard used to be the external adjustment, they were both the connector style. It seems as though they have gone away from the connector style in the 700 series, but I have heard the same things as you about them still using the connector style on some models, I don't know if this is them going through their parts stock, or if they are making a move back to that design? I doubt you would get a concise answer even from the company.
