Can anyone tell me if you can load the 75g swift serocco to fit a AR mag? I have tried the 75g A-MAX and it was just about the tip to long.
I have a White Oak 20 inch barrel on a AR15 1-7 twist.

Re: 75 grain swift seirocco

The HP bullets you should be ok, since they are not as long. The polymer tip is what's making it too long. The 70 should be ok, but the 75 is a maybe. They are a VLD design, so the bullet is long and pointed, with the ogive further back.

Re: 75 grain swift seirocco

I just ordered 100 70g VLD's and 75g VLD's
I will let yall know if they will work.

the Swift Serocco's would had been great the retain 80% of there weight on impact. Good for hunting and target with a high BC.
Too bad.

Re: 75 grain swift seirocco

The Scirocco has a fairly short ogive.

I haven't loaded them firsthand, but have been advised by others who have that you can load them to 2.26" oal without putting the ogive in the case neck.

Re: 75 grain swift seirocco

MontanaMarine is correct, the ogive of the 75 Scirocco II is 0.5 inch and these nice bullets can easily be loaded to magazine length. The beauring surface is rather long and the boat tail is very short. This bullets stick into the case quite a bit but it's a very nice hunting bullet with a high BC. I like it a lot.

The 75 Hornady A-Max has a much longer ogive.

and these will work on a ar15 with magpul mags or do you need metal mags?

Re: 75 grain swift seirocco

I don't have any Magpul mags, but since you can seat the bullet to 2.260 like M193 and M855 that should not be an issue. BTW, these bullets are fairly expensive, more than twice the price of my match bullets, but these are superb hunting bullets, they get to work once they reach the target whereas my match bullets have done their job just punching the paper.

Re: 75 grain swift seirocco

Update: the 75g Berger VLD's would not load to mag length but the 70g are good to go, going to tachpro in the morning to try them out. 23.5g varget and 24g varget COL 2.25.
