I have an all weather 77/22 with a warne 1 piece mount warne med. height rings with an 10x Bushnell 3200
Warne Mount

Warne Rings

Center to center (scope to bore) is 2" and I canot get even a 50 yrd zero.

My scope will only adjust to get me about .25 inch low of aiming point at 50 yrds.

I checked my scope and I have about 24 MOA of dead spot (no actual adjustment)

Im thinking I have a problem with my scope.
My scope height isnt do high is it? I can get .125 lower with lower warne scope rings.

the mount I am using does raise my scope some but 2" isnt to high is it?

In the past I had the same scope and rifle but using factory ruger rings and could adjust to 100 yrds+

Did my scope develope a problem or is the mount and ring height to much for my scope?

I just got my Bushnell 6500 back from bushnell, I was having internal adjustment problems with it aswell.

Input?

I'm not sure what you are calling a "Dead Spot" in adjustment, but if there is a 24 moa area in the scopes adjustment travel that doe not move the point of inpact, then your scope is bad. Not maybe, it is broke. Hope this helps, Jeff

Re: 77/22 and Bushnell 3200 problem

To resurrect this older thread. Was there ever a resolution to the problem? I have a similar issue.

Folks:

I just installed a Warne Picatinny rail on my 77/22. I mounted a Bushnell 6-24 scope yesterday and at 50 yds could only get the rounds on paper by raising the elevation turret to the top of its travel.

The plan for the Picatinny is to occasionally be able to swap expensive optics from the 77/22 to my Remington 700. I know I would have to re-zero, but I should be able to have the set up still stay within a reasonable adjustment range and not be pushed to the end of the vertical adjustment of the scope at 50yd.

I recently put the 77/22 into a Boyd's thumbhole stock and added a Shilen barrel. Before the Warne Picatinny mount arrived I used the Ruger mounts/rings and an inexpensive 4x 1" scope I had on hand to try out the new stock and barrel. I had no problem obtaining a zero.

So I know there are lots of variables in the problem above, but I am grateful in advance for any advice. Is my Picatinny plan the problem? Is the Weigand base a better option? No one makes a 20 MOA canted base for this application.

Re: 77/22 and Bushnell 3200 problem

Sure sounds like a mount problem. I would go back to the ruger factory rings they are a sure bet for the 77/22. I know this does not help with what you are tring to acheive I had the same problem. So I just bit the bullet and bought another scope. Sorry for being no help at all.

Re: 77/22 and Bushnell 3200 problem

I have an older 77/22 varmint with the laminate stock and heavy stainless barrel. I'm using the Weigand mount and the Burris Signature rings with the .020 Eccentric Offset inserts. I have them set + .020 in the rear and -.020 in the front ring. This allows me to dial out to 200 yards with elevation to spare. Those inserts come in varoius sizes and can be rotated and mixed and matched to get the results you need. This should be a link to those rings and inserts http://www.burrisoptics.com/sigrings1.html#2

Re: 77/22 and Bushnell 3200 problem

As for the Weigand base which I've been using consistently I find that it works great. It allows me to zero my scope at 50yards and I've been effective at 100yards with my setup. It does raise the scope up .460 so add the additional height of the scope rings you plan on using. I know I would comfortable using low rings or even very lows with any scope that has a 40 or 44mm objective lens. I can post some pictures to if that helps.

Re: 77/22 and Bushnell 3200 problem

just a shot in the dark, but most of the m77's (centerfire) that i've had had 1 higher ring thatn the other. same goes with many of the pre ban mini 14's i've had.

if the 22/77 has the same type of offset, can it be that you mounted the warne mount backwards?

or if the 22/77 has no offset in height, is the warne mount made for the off set?

a few links here for bases: 1 & 2 piece, 0 and + MOA rimfire scope bases, etc.

Re: 77/22 and Bushnell 3200 problem

Well I dug out the old 77/22 rings, and they are identical. No offset, so flipping a base around won't net you anything. Too bad Burris doesn't make their Ruger rings in the Signature series with the inserts...
