If anyone has upgraded their 77/22 and wouldn't mind sharing some pics and specs I would appreciate it. Starting point is Ruger's 77/22 all weather, the one with the tapered heavy barrey brushed stainless finish.
Thanks

I would replace the sear with a volq sear. the trigger was the biggest bang for the buck. I think it was about $25-$30. I believe it brought the trigger down to just over 2lbs and it was crisp

I'd shoot it after that. I was grouping very well with Wolf Match and Remington (eley ) orange box.

With the new stock that should be in your hands, ur gonna have a great platform. Maybe bed it after you shoot it first and see how she does.

Some people claim they get better groups with a bolt job, tightening the bolt down. I never got around to doing it as mine was a shooter out of the box.

Mine's actually the 22 WMR version, but +1000 on the Volquartsen sear & spring kit.

I bought my Ruger "used" but it's another one that shot extremely well out of the box (which seems to be fairly common with these in either caliber). Leupold rings, 10X Super Sniper, and the Volquarsten kit are the only "upgrades". I later added the varmint light (which after seeing some of the other rigs on this sight is a little embarrassing, but it's effective). I mainly use this to dispatch varmints at night so as not disturb the neighbors down the road. Shots are under 100 yards which is really about the limit of the light.

I had the 77/22 22LR

This is the very first thing to order, then while you wait, the front swivel stud sometimes touches on these rifles. Back it out 2 turns or take it out and file it down if it looks close to touching the barrel on the inside of the stock.

Never did a thing to the one I had and in search of a closer trainer 22 I sold it. Even though I sold it it still has my personal bests on group sizes at 50 and 100 yds. It was never bedded and did touch the stock a bit.

It liked Eley Team (Blue box) & FGMM.

I also have the 77/22 WRM. Haven't shot it enough to tell if it's as good. Those ballistic tips smoke the crows though!

does anyone know if there are aftermarket synthetic stocks for the 77/22
can the suppliers of the fully suppressed barrels ship them out of the us

This is something I tossed together as a training rifle.Floated the barrel which caused alot of barrel droop and POI shift. To fix that problem, installed a Weigand base and Burris rings with +.020 inserts in the rear rings and -.020 inserts in the front rings. Plenty of elevation left in the scope now. Also did a trigger job, installed a Karstan cheekpiece, and installed a larger bolt knob. The Rimfire Magnum Varmint that spot69221 mentioned is synthetic. As to whether there's room to open up the barrel channel for a suppressed barrel, you'd have to contact McMillan for that info.

I did this one about 10 years ago. Started out as a 5 moa all weather. McMillan
stock, Moyers trigger, Volquartsen carbon fiber barrel, Conn Precision chambering
trued and jeweled the bolt, cryro treated by an outfit in Ill., var 3 3.5x10, factory
bottom metal from brownells. A 1 moa shooter to 100 with FGM. 1 to 1.5 with most
other. I sometimes wish I had gone with a stainless bull barrel for the weight but it
sure has been nice to carry.
