My old remmie 700 w/ 24" bbl. likes 69g Retumbo w/ 168 Bergers seated .008 off the lands @ ave. 2789fps. 3 shot groups max spread are .540-.600. Not too fast, but REAL accurate for an old off the shelf gun w/ just a Timney and a bedding job. Prolly had 1000+ rounds thru it. You could start 10@ below that and give it a try. I think you can get Barnes a LOT faster w/ those bands. My hunting load is 72g Retumbo w/ the same bullet etc. for 2950fps into .800 or so for 3 shots. Good luck.

I run 70.0 grains of Retumbo with a 162g A-Max. It's about 3000fps out of my rig. Not the fastest, but my most accurate.
