Anyone tried N555 in the 7prc? Running things through Gordon’s reloading it seems like it might be good for load density and burn % but would like some real world experience from someone. I can get the powder at my local gun shop so that’s why I am wanting to try it. Can’t find n560

I have that same chart but can’t find anyone that has actually tried 555. Seems like most are running h1000, n560 or n565. I am using Berger 175 EH right. I am set 15thou off the lands which was what worked best with n565. Just wanting to see if I can’t get something with better burn. Assuming Gordon’s tool is correct 565 does have complete burn by quite a bit unless pushing a 190 gr bullet.
I’m sure if you reduce by 10% and work up you can find a good node. I’m experimenting with StaballHD currently and 175 ELDx.
Ya I’m in the middle of it now. I have a decent load with N565 but my barrel gets a stupid amount of carbon build up in just like 20-30 rounds. According to Gordon’s tool 565 doesn’t get complete burn so assuming that’s true mayeb that’s why. So far the N555 is getting me slightly higher speeds and looks promising for better groups and carbon does seem less after the same amount of rounds when I give it a light clean between outings.
how long is your barrel? Ive use N565 in 2 different-- 23" barrels, both with excellent accuracy no crazy carbon noticed. 565 was better for speed and accuracy than 560 in the one I tested with. this is all with 180vlds but 175eh shot well also
22 inch barrel. It has so far been pretty accurate. Testing the 555 just to see what happens. It definitely burns cleaner cause I have been doing a couple wet patches every 20 or so rounds while developing my loads and after 565 the amount the patches bring out is almost like double it seems like. Regardless I’ll go with what shoot the best even if it’s the 565 and is a bit more dirty.
