Sidearms & Scatterguns 870 Barrel Porting?

I sent my 14" Rem 870 barrel to Vang Comp. They did a great job extending the forcing cone and porting it.
All the buckshot on the target @ 25 meters.

Does anyone have recommendations on a competent smith that can port an 870 barrel?

For hunting ducks or self defense?

Lots of places for ducks... for self defense, see if you want the drawbacks of the ports... smoke, flame, powder coming up into line of sight...

But Hans is the king of no choke barrels and getting them to shoot like a rifle(too tight for me) and porting.

If for self defense, have your tried 8 pellet low recoil ammo?

For the price of the bullshit 870s tricked out like a $3 whore, you could have a Beretta 1301 which is superior in every way for less money. Don't piss away money on an obsolete tool.

Considering the Shotgun is obsolete as a combat weapon, I would question any agency that had modern procurement as a weapon system.

Decades old 870's don't need to be replaced only to collect dust.

However if you actually want to play the fools game (or compete in 3 gun/ect) then the 1301 is the best shotgun on the planet, next to the M4.

When it comes to shotguns, especially semi auto's Beretta is king by a mile. Been that way for the last 30 years and doesn't look to be changing anytime soon.

Does any agency armory have Beretta 1301's in their inventory ?
Departments have budgets
Departments already have racks to hold 870s.....

My guess is that no department issues Berettas... Swat teams have different budgets and weapons... but for patrol, its an 870 or another similar pump, an AR and maybe a second Shotgun in blaze orange loaded with less lethal

The 870 SBS I posted above started life as a Wilson Scatterguns Technology 18", however by the time the magazine was loaded with the heavy SF light out front it was way too heavy for me.
