So I'm putting together a .223 bolt action rifle. I would like to shoot a variety of bullet weights through it. I've heard of a 90gr .223 bullet but I haven't been able to find out too much about it. I've read on one site that because of the added length of the bullet the chamber had to be a bit longer than the 2.25" COAL of a .223. As a result the rifle could only really shoot 90gr cartridges accurately. Does anyone have any experience with loading the 90gr .223? Any information is greatly appreciated.

You can throat it for 75's or 80's and just take a slight velocity hit on the 90's until the throat errodes enough to seat the 90's further out.

90gr bullets in a 223 is pretty heavy, that case is really begging for more capacity by the time you get to 75's. Go to an AI version and it will help out a lot.
