Re: 9mm carbine can
Bill,
As rare as it is that I have to disagree with 762, I will here. You want a can that can forego the active Neilson device, what AAC calls there a.s.a.p. What you want is a can that can swap out to a static (solid, non articulating) mount. Why? Simple, your carbine does not need to have your suppressor cycle every time you pull the trigger, just the opposite.
The Tirant is not FA rated, nor do you need it for your carbine. But a static, swappable, FA rated can could provide you with additional flexibility. I would recommend you start looking for those that can provide it. AWC is currently producing the new Triad in T.H.O.R. It is full auto rated, swappable, no monocores, but rather fully fashioned baffle facings and purge stacks. The envelope is machine out of solid Ti stock (U.S. Bar stock). It might be an ounce or two heavier than an aluminum build out, but titanium weighs more. These are used on pistol and subguns. It is not on their web site, but is in full production and shipping in both .45 and 9mm to services. Yes, you can buy them, but you will need to call them direct and ask. Now I'm not saying just buy it, hear as many makers as you can. There is no finer, quieter, stronger can out there. I shoot a good deal of 9mm and, to date, it is the quiestest 9mm can I've ever heard. It is coming out in their new catalog.
