Glad to see the resurgence. While I think the current donations to Kidssafe is GREAT, and I just donated,I think we need to keep open to giving to other types of organizations which might be less apparent. Early on we were giving tograde school class room projects etc. I think we can make a lot of good impressions by giving where our gifts would be more of a surprise to the recipients. I think Tucker's original idea was to show people that gun owners are not one dimensional gun thugs and have big hearts wanting to help.

I dont really want to do it, and put off offering hoping someone else would, but if no one else is willing to step up, Ill be the 'point man' as Lowlight called it.

Our former governor of Virginia, Bob McDonald tried to get a grade school project started. Unfortunately, the left pegged him as a top candidate for President and framed him with some phony charges that though lated dropped, cost him his shot.

GGWG is just the RIGHT thing to do, regardless of anything else.

I'll always get behind the right thing to do even if I know it's gonna blow up in my face.

GGWG doesn't really "belong" to anyone --I've started my own projects on here several times and got people going. One of the PM message groups that's popular on here today was actually one I started to help fund a project or two. Now you could use those lists and you're on 'em I'm sure, but I'm also sure those guys have donated to damn near every project we've had --they ain't the only 100 guys on here.

We need the other 90,900 to get engaged. I mean, it's not their duty and nobody is making anyone do it, but don't you WANT to be part of doing the right thing?

You donate what you have. If you only have a dollar and someone else donates $1000, well, you each did admirable by donating what you could. I'm usually a $5 or a $20 guy, I ain't ashamed of it. What I am ashamed of is when I do that and my fellow gun owners don't do anything at all. And I'm sure this goes a lot farther towards winning hearts and minds than throwing money at politicians and lawyers, look where that's gotten us.

I would add one thing though, we ain't doing this for free: if you want to accept that money, it needs to be obvious where it comes from. So when we donate to a school teacher, we don't need the message being hidden (some kind stranger) or changed (it came from a gun control advocacy group). Because I've heard of this being a problem with at least one donation in the past.
