I once found a thread on here detailing the exploits of a guy who was running this combo. Without google I can't find it again for the life of me.

As I recall the guy said he was getting something like 2300-2400 fps even with the 20" barrel and running that data through the shooter app on my iphone I come up with some incredible numbers. The round appears to stay supersonic out to 1200 yards, which would be pretty outstanding for a .308 with a 20" barrel.

My question is who has experience running a combo like this or even running 208s in their .308 rifle? Is this kind of performance possible and or safe? What sort of accuracy have you been getting if you've been using it?

If you have a 10 twist bbl, give the 208s a go. 12 twist isn't going to cut it. Know some have said a 12 twist will stabilize a 208 but a friends 11 twist, cut rifled barrel on a custom build wouldn't stabilize bullet. F-class use, on paper at 1K the 208 A-max from an 11 twist barrel the bullet was very unhappy.

Look for posts from Montana Marine, he did a fair number of posts on 208s from a 308.

PM Bohem on this site. He has a 20 inch 308 running 208 Amax's. I do know a little about the rifle in that it has a 1 in 8 twist rate. I could be wrong, but he's intentions were to run subsonic with a suppressor. You'll have to get the details from him though.
