I recently received my Mcrees stock for my Savage 10 P-SR. I cleaned off underside of receiver and barrel/recoil lug area and mounted and equally tightened the front and rear action screws by hand. I then torqued to 65 inch pounds as stated. I noticed that the front screw in chamber area sits below flush as before on older stock but the rear screw is unseen. You can see 3 threads deep before you can feel for the rear action screw with a dental pick just to make sure it is there. On my older crappier Savage stock both the front and rear action screws sat below flush in receiver and I want to make sure there is something that maybe I missed. Mcrees is off to Shot to getting ahold of a technical guy will be at least a week. Thanks.

yep its down there, some stocks you have to grind the screws to fit flush, not a prob with the Mcrees, just make sure you tq in sequence, I do 5 -10 inch pounds in front then back then bang rifle on floor to seat the lug, then tighten to 65 front to rear.
