just bought a AI AX in 308, has a 24” barrel with brake.
few questions.

who makes the barrel?
do these come with the small or large firing pin?
any good loads for using Sierra 175gr MK over Varget.

dealer couldn’t answer the questions about the rifle.

The first 2 numbers on serial number.

Take the firing pin out and measure it. No special load is required. Work the charge up as you would with any other rifle.

Are the barrels marked with an ai logo and or a British crown mark?

And varget and 175s is like one of the most popular loads out there...I don't push mine hard as I don't see the point in a 308 but most barrels I have used are happy between 41 and 43 gr of varget.

Haven’t received it yet but believe it was imported direct from UK over being an American AI

So, based on the serial number, it was made in 2020
has a 1 in 12” twist, will 175gr SMKs work good in that or too heavy?

42 to 44 gr of varget in a lapua case and I'm sure you'll hit a good node.

Yes, rifle arrived, should be back home too shoot it next week
