Hello again people...

I have a question for those of you who have (or had) an AX338 (PRE 2014)

On the buttstock, there's a mount for a sling attachment....would anyone know if the Blue Force Gear QD push button swivels will fit in there? If so, is it strong enough to hold an outfitted 20lb rifle? Or would I be better off going with the HK style snap hook?

Wondering what others may have used or experimented with.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks as always...

That's what I was wondering.....is that loop only for hooks? I wasn't sure if a WD swivel would fit but the more I think of it, I'm probably better with the snap hooks anyways. I don't have any kind of attachment/loop for a hook on the forend so I'll have to look around for one to mount.
MileHigh sells them unless I can find one used somwhere.

You have a QD cup (among others) just forward of the folding stock near the bolt. Can’t use the HK hooks if it’s folded anyhow.

Both or relatively secure, hooks are pretty straight-forward whereas flush-cups are retractable ball-bearing operated. Had one QD cup failure in my lifetime (male connector, not the cup), zero hook failures.

Thanks AIAW....so, you'd recommend the QD ball bearing/cup setup ....those little ball bearing qd don't look very strong, at least for a 20lb rifle....wondering, have you ever tried them? I much prefer to look/function of the qd over the hooks.

AI must have two different style hooks at the back of the butt stock cause mine is far more squared off at the end and flatter to the stock. I can verify that the squared off version is QD bearing compatible, but can not comment on the rounded version like the one in your picture.

Thank you for that goosed,.... I've only ever seen one other rounded version, as you mentioned they all seem to be squared...I guess that's why mine feels lighter than my buddies AX lol

Here's how mine looks:

The QD compatible part is made differently.

I believe yours is specifically for the HK style hooks. If QD is your preference, you may be able to source the other style mount, though I can't find a listing for that part anywhere.
