Accuracy International Bolt Galling

Has anybody ever galled an AI action or bolt?

I'm sure it could happen if debris gets into the action, but not aware of any posts here where it has happened to someone.

AI actions aren't stainless or titanium so they're not prone to galling simply for "like on like" material incompatibility issues.

Good thing is if you did gall the lugs on an AI both the bolt head and breech locking ring are replaceable so the action doesn't need to be replaced.

One thing I have seen happen is a loose fitting bolt head roll pin backed out slightly and started dragging. The roll pins appear to be softer than the action so no damage occurred, but it did make for a rough feeling bolt.

AI does an excellent job utilizing materials that don't gall or corrode.

Can't say I've ever heard of an AI action galling, but anything's possible if given the right set of conditions.

They are nitrided, so very unlikely.
