Rifle Scopes accuracy international scope mounting i need help!!!

I have an AI AX rifle with an accuracy international 20 moa action rail for the mount to attach to, so now I need a mount and I was going with AI 30mm 18moa mount but I don't know if that is going to throw my cant way off.. also would that mount be the right height for a 6.5-20x50 scope. if anyone could help me that would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

depends on how much adjustment the scope has, 38moa total would be fine for a schmidt and bender 5-25 for example....

I have 45" of adjustment.. so I should be fine? or would it be better to go with a 34mm mount with 0 moa and just throw in some 34mm to 1" reducer rings.

scope
zeiss conquest 6.5-20x50mmm
tube diameter is 1" or 25.4mm
moa adjustment per click is 1/4
windage/elevation adjustment (in iches as stated on my manual) is 45
diopter adjustment +2/-3

max range I intend to shoot 1000yds

I was just informed by one of the members last night that ring reducers are kind of a no no, which is what I figured... just more parts that could fail was my thinking.

i do not have my gun yet but the only info i could find on the accuracy international action rail, which was very little, said that there is a difference in dimensions when talking about the AI action rail and other action rails. is this correct or did i misinterpret something. my biggest dilemma was finding a 1" or 25.4 mm scope mount that will fit on an accuracy international action rail.

any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry for being so vague, it was a late and stressful night trying to find mounts

A .260 is pretty flat shooting round. You already have 20 Moa in your scope rail plus whats in your scope. I would think that would be enough to get you to 1000 yards. I have a 20 Moa mount on my gap 10 .308 and a 5-25x with 56mm objective and I can reach a 1000 yards with 11.3 mills or so. I'm not as familar with Moa scopes, but I would think that you will easily reach a 1000 yards with your setup. If you add the 18 Moa rings you will for sure have enough elevation. I don't think you will have a problem with your objective lens hitting your rail as its only 50mm.

will any picatinny rail scope mount work on an AI action rail or do I have to buy one that was made specially for AI action rail, like one of the spuhrs or accuracy international, I cant find a 1" scope mount that fits AI action rails. and thanks for the replys S12A & SHOOTTOTHRILL, any other help is greatly appreciated. thanks guys

With all due respect...why on earth are you mounting a 1" tubed zeiss on a $7000 AI chambered for long range shooting? Smarten up and get the right tool for the job.

With the AX model you can use most standard scope mounts without an issue.

Using reducer rings is just adding more complexity & should be avoided if possible.

With the AX (as opposed to the AW or AE) what you need to measure is if the scope mount provides enough height so that the front objective lens of the scope clears the rails that go all the way along the top of the barrel shroud (unless you decide to remove them).

When using an AI mount, a 56mm objective lens scope needs the 45 MOA version to clear, so I think the 18 MOA version might be a little short for your 50mm one, but you'll need to measure to be sure.

The Sphur mounts are excellent and offered in several different base heights, but I'm not sure if they are available in a 1" tube size or not.

I am mounting a zeiss on a rem 700 ltr 308 in an AX chassis.... if I had an AIAX rifle I would spend equal on the glass, but I have to start somewhere.

and thank you guys for the replys, if anyone knows of a sturdy 1" scope mount that I could use that would be greatly appreciated. I am still on the hunt so hopefully I can find something but a point in the right direction would help.

If you have a 20MOA base then I'd buy a decent set of 1" rings to use. That scope is going to hold back the system and you're going to want to change it eventually.
