Not too long ago someone posted a thread on here about polishing/tuning the large pattern AR's. There were pics and descriptions of lapping the bolt, trigger assembly, etc.

I have been searching for it for a couple hours, but can't locate it.

Board search and Google Skills have failed. Can anyone give me a link?

Lone Wolf,

I followed your AR-10 build and am planning to use your build as a basis upgrading my Infantry Model AR-10. Looking back, would you do anything differently?

Also, Hellbenders accurizing was for an AR-15. Will his tweaks apply to the AR-10?

Thanks much,

CT

Not really anything I would do differently.

Maybe go with a shorter Noveske barrel, but that's about it.

Hellbender's tutorial uses a DPMS LR rifle. That is a large pattern AR. Not an AR-15. Take a look at the bolt carrier in part 2.

The AR10 that I built is not as accurate as I had hoped, but I am still not sure if it's a failing in the machine or my ability to drive it. I have not had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with it lately. It's a sub-MOA rifle, but I would like to get it down to 1/2 MOA before I would take it to a serious match. I shot it at a local match and gave away too many points on the close range stages that I would not have if I was shooting a bolt gun.

Since the AE arrived, not much else has been out of the safe (other than the .22's).
