Hello,
I am trying to get into long range shooting, but have to drive several miles to get something longer than a 300 yard range. The family farm is 1.5 hours away and I plan to build a permanent shooting lane and backstop there.
I am new to long range, but have many years of shotgunning experience, a few years of USPSA and 3-gun competition under my belt. I think I already have some rifles that will get me started, however, I may need to change and/or upgrade optics. I also reload everything except rimfire. :)

I am late coming to this site because I had the impression that it was for military and police personell. Please bare with me as I begin asking stupid questions (after I have searched first, of course).

What part of the state are you in? Also, there's a group from here at Rockcastle shooting today, and I think next weekend as well. It'd be a great time to go meet some other hide members, talk, and shoot.--Mike

Mike, Thank you! I have shot USPSA at the Rock. It is also not too farm from the home farm. I am out of town the next two weekends for work, but will be looking here and on their site to come give it a try.
Thanks again for your nice reply!
