Saw about 3 lbs of ADI 2208, 2209, and 2217 at a garage sale ( yard sale ) .The reloader had passed away so i picked them and and got a few other things as well .

Now that i have the powders, what are they known to be good for ? who is loading using these powders ? I am aware of powders they are close too like varget , H1000 etc , but i ma interested in loads that work really well in their own rights not so much as replacement powders .

Any comments ?

cheers

Nice find! 2208's great for .223 and .308 target shooting, 2209's versatile for .243 to .30-06, and 2217's for larger calibers like .300 Win Mag.

Congrats on the score! ADI 2208, 2209, and 2217 are all solid powders. 2208 is great for .223 and .308, 2209 works well in 7mm-08 and .243, and 2217 is a magnum powder for bigger calibers like 7mm Rem Mag and .300 Win Mag. What caliber are you planning to load for?

Hodgson IMR is made by adi powder from what I know.

6x47 lapua, i use 2209, same with my 243 ackley and 6/6.5 creedmoor. I used to run my 260rem on it also. 2208 is great for 308, touch slow for 223 but does work well.

2217 is possible to run in 260rem and 6.5 creed, but expect fireballs because is a slower powder. 300winmags work sweet on 2217 and 2213sc.
