north ga,usa,
my armalite does not seem to like bullets longer than 147's im figuring the heavy wts may be letting tha bolt begin to creep back, any body have any experience with ar 10t's gassin em down with adjustable block for longer heavier wt. bullets

Re: adjustable gas blocks

+1. I doubt the gas block is the cause of your problems.

I have owned (and still own) several AR-10 rifles, including a 10T. I have never had a problem running heavy, match ammo and reloads through mine, up to and including 175gr loads, with the factory gas block installed.

Armalite's own accuracy guarantee on the 10T rifles is based on factory match ammo (FGMM...168gr).

What types of ammunition are you running that you are experiencing problems with?

Re: adjustable gas blocks

I am not sure I understand what problem you are experiencing, but it doesn't sound like an adjustable gas block will help.

That being said I do run adjustable gas blocks on my guns and use it to tune out a little recoil. I shoot quite a bit of three gun and when running a system (adj. gasblock, lightened buffer/carrier, and muzzlebrake) you can create a gun that is damn near perfectly still at speed.

Re: adjustable gas blocks

i went back and looked at the box 180 grain winchester factory ammo wouldnt group worth a crap. put some 147 surplus through it and it would stack em in there great.
