Can anyone tell me about this barrel? I have a 700 I'm wanting to build into a custom rifle. I'm shooting a remington 700 sps 308 now with a 20 in barrel. I shoot the sniper tactial matches at thunder valley. I'm always on a budget..and I saw midway has this one on sale for 179$ and its already for a brake... Let me know? also I have access to a gun smith but how much can I do my self? I want it as perfect as I can get it..

I'm assuming that is the barrel that Remington uses on their factory AAC rifles. It states that the barrel is chambered which may mean that it has the "standard" looooooong Remington throat, but I'm not sure. If you're fairly handy and you have the correct tools (go, no-go gauges, barrel vise, action wrench) you should be able to fit the barrel yourself. If you don't have the proper tools, leave it to a professional 'smith.
