Advice for a budget rifle scope.

Hello!

I'm on this place for your advice for one budget rifle scope that I can use on my CZ457 Varmint and also for an affordable backup scope.

I have an idea to buy a scope with a medium range magnification , 24 or 40max, and first focal plane reticle.
Tactical (Christmass tree) reticle in MIL(MRAD) , illuminated center cros/dot.
A large amount of elevation regulation, minimum 23MIL(about 80MOA).

I make an look to Discovery Optics, Vector and Arken.

Can you tell me your advice?

Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x at $299 from Expert Voice might be an option, but no illuminated reticle.

Arken are the max of my budget, myne are a simple CZ457 Varmint, no match for me, I think to shoot about 200 or 300m but i do that this distances are about the limit for me, not for the 457...

taking advantage of the discounts on Aliexpress last week and having found fast shipping from an EU country, I purchased the HD 4-24x50 SFIR model.
This for my CZ 457 Varmint and as a backup scope.

But it's not illuminated nor does it have an X-Tree reticle, which are two of your needs.

Are not a FCH but less coarse than the MOA2 of myne Sightron...

One bad feature on this exemplar are the elevation turret that are non perpendicullary a the Dial, the cap screws don't fit proprly on the turret, but the elevation work good.

Eyebox are short, but the image are simple to acquire.

Good deal for the price, 268€ on the special offer.

Oh, nice. It looks to me like there is nothing problematic other than the shorter eye relief. I am glad you liked it so far. I was thinking of getting the 5-30 and if you have any updates. Feel free to update here. I really appreciate it.

If you can, try to go directly to the ED 5-40x56 model, in my opinion it has everything needed to be an excellent alternative to the equivalent Arken and Vortex Venom...
But my opinion is like that of a kid the first week of falling in love...

I just found out that 5-40 scope after you told me. Isnt 40 x too much for a new company like discovery? I saw good things about the ED 5-25 and 5-30 but no reviews on the 5-40 yet.

I certainly don't have the experience to give an opinion on the company's capabilities, but if these are the premises they shouldn't be underestimated...
There are some reviews on YouTube on the 5-40 of Asian PCP guys, I think they are reliable.
I saw, on the range, a 5-30 on a Winchester Wildcat a few hours after I ordered my 4-24.
I resisted looking inside and I did well not to have ruined the surprise...
