I'm going to be heading out to the Ft. Greeley area in about 3 weeks for some business and the evenings will likely be pretty much free, rather than sit at a hotel or a bar I'm thinking about bringing along a spinning rod and some plastics to go fishing instead.
I did a little looking via Google Maps of the area and it seems like there is a plethora of small ponds/lakes in the immediate area that would be well suited to catching panfish, bass, etc.
I'm most concerned about 2 things:
1) Are these places (like Seeley Lake) public access so that I can just show up and fish?
2) What suggestions would those "in the know" have as far as reasonable places to go fish.
I'm not against fishing for cats either, but I just need to know to bring that rod.
TIA.
