I'm new to thermal and have a Pulsar XG50 (30mm tube) and trying to figure out good options for a mount. I currently have it in a Bobro standard height (not sure on exact measure, about 1.5") and seems low to get comfortable with. Maybe I need to bring it further back and should consider something without the offset more commonly needed to get proper eye relief on daylight scope, but thought something a little higher may not be bad. With the ability to do multiple rifle profiles I do like the idea of sticking with a QD mount. I'm also looking at mounting an offset MRD as a backup sight, doesn't have to be integrated into the mount but noticed a Scalarworks 1.93" mount appears like it has some room to place MRD offset mount forward of scope mount but under cantilever offset so it's not as far forward. If BUIS is on and in way (if switching from red dot to thermal) I wouldn't mind avoiding need to remove it to add the offset MRD, but not a huge deal if I just need to do so and mount it rear of thermal.
Hoping for some input either on characteristics to consider or specific models. Not rigidly restrained on budget, but not necessarily looking to spend on a Spuhr QD over more affordable options either. I appreciate any helpful input.
