AGS case annealer?

There is a thread on LRH about this annealer. I watched the video and think two of the problems mentioned and his method of resolving it are solid ideas. A shim to hold the flame height (@1:46) for the cartridge since the set screw wasn't doing the job.

@3:47 he mentions it did not come with a power cord. @4:46 he mentions some other problems. He also raised the base for longer cartridges = @5:21.

I will be working with 308 223 and 6ARC. Don't think I will be having the longer case problem and before one of you wise guys say. " Thats what she said!"

I have an “Annie” Induction Annealer. I tried the flame type and salt bath type, which in my opinion are too inconsistent/temperamental/error prone and in the wrong hands, dangerous (by comparison to the Annie). The Annie is Induction and works like a champ.

I have an AGS - moved on from salt bath annealing.

I bought a basic power cord from amazon for $6. I haven't had any issues setting up the flame, or with it slipping. But I use a long 3mm allen key. Don't try to use a shorty with the flame on, it gets toasty. Empty the catch try every 30 rounds or so, otherwise sometimes you'll get the odd case that sticks in the drop hole and jams the feed.

As far as flame annealers, its well made and simple unit that does what I need. I first wanted a bench source, but getting a second torch head wasn't worth double the money to me.

That is a nice setup. I just don't have that kind of money to spend on a annealer. But it does look great

Tell you what.....Save your money, buy an Annie and I will make you the same caseholders and send them to you for free/no charge for any of it. Otherwise, you're going to spend three times what the Annie costs and ultimately arrive there anyway.....

taller unit is available now!
