I have RRS BAI-AT rail as shown on my AT and would like to add the HRD Gear 9" to get rid of the Big Dog spigot mount to save some weight and to be able to move/slide the bipod faster and more easily . The HRD rail will extend around 5" beyond the chassis. Does anyone have this setup or know anyone that is running this setup? Any issues with the 9" HRD rail installation when BAI-AT is already installed or that the HRD rail is extending the forend/chassis by 5" or 6"?

Thanks for the pics!. That rail does look good but I doubt it will work in my case unless I make an opening for the spigot lock. I would like to keep the RRS plate since it lets me move the bipod closer to the center of the rifle than it's possible with the Sawtooth or HRD rails

Look at the 3rd pic, there is an opening for that spigot lock already. I am sure you can push the bipod back enough that it'll work. You only gain if that an inch closer to "center" with the RRS plate.

Take a look at my buddy from Sawtooth Rifles forend rail. I rock them on all my rifles. Cool thing about these are, if you have a bipod that still "needs" to attach to a rail vs RRS/ Arca rail, it has key slots on the bottom to do so

I was getting ready to order an HRD AX rail but I’m going with one of these now. The keyslots on the bottom and the screws at each end as a stop are very nice touches.

Just throwing out another option. I got these pictures from RRS for their new version of the AT chassis plate. Still goes back almost as far, but reaches out to the end of the chassis, and is a much lower profile. Also includes a couple locations for attaching a pic rail for legacy bipods and barricade stops.

Thanks for posting this! I noticed it says on their website that BAI-AT being revised. If this rail extended past the chassis by couple of inches it would be exactly what I was looking for. Do you know what's the timeline for the release?

It's in production, but they said it may be a few weeks. With everything going on with the move, it's taking a little while to get set up in Utah.

Extending past the chassis would have interfered with the spigot mount, and they didn't want to prevent people from using it

I feel like that back screw head would fall right where I’m trying to set up on a barricade

I have them on 4 rifles and shot a few 2-day matches with them on top of thousands of rounds of range and club matches and have yet to have one fall off..... And I jam the ckye-pod's against either end 99% of the time.

I meant more so for balance when a hard to hard contact is happening on a barricade. Probably not enough to matter but I haven’t used it.

The HRD rail (AXMC) has the option to install the two stop screws (front & back). I personally leave them off because I find it easier to quickly attach my tripod without them.
