Re: AI AW common problems

I saw something break on one...

the action had 90,000 rounds through it at the time, it was on it's 10th barrel and the pin that hold the side bolt release broke, it was awful, and I know the owner was almost ready to be upset, except it was movie night which always puts people in a good mood.

So there is something to look out for, be sure you follow through with AI's offer to check the rifle after 100,000 rounds.

If you introduce your AI to Mr. Sledge Hammer, then it's a different story. None of my AWs had any problem. It's definitely built for abuse, although I am not sure if I want to abuse it that much. LOL

I haven't pulled the target pics off the camera yet. Hope to get to that tomorrow.

I am tight of FGMM and that's what it seemed to like. I hope to get some different brands and run them through to see if it's as accurate with other "match" ammo.

Re: AI AW common problems

I found a few problems after I got my AW:

1) I want more!!!! A barrel chambered for something in 6.5mm and perhaps a second AI AWSM in .338 LM would work.

2) If you find out you like it, it's incredibly difficult to go back to a stock remmy.

Granted, these are only "problems" if don't have the financial means (or sound spending habits)

Well a 3,000 dollar rifle that'll hold up for 90,000$ dollars worth of ammo before it fails.....I just dont know if its worth owning at this point.

Re: AI AW common problems

There are no problems with these guns that I have ever heard of, they are just a little on the heavy side. However so are most tatical rifles that you would strap to your back and bail out of a blackhawk with it strap to you.

Wow. What happened to the rifle to cause that damage?

And now we know you are a newbie to the sport

Umm, OK.

Or maybe I just like to master one rifle instead of tinkering with many.

Then again, you did notice I used "need" not "want" right?

Re: AI AW common problems

Adam- That sucks your stock broke like that. But I am glad o hear AI stood behind their product! If you dont mind me asking, were they going to swap out the 1.5 stock for free, then offer you a 2.0 stock upgrade for a small fee? If so, what was the upgrade fee?
