Hello, I am looking for a very accurate rifle that won't give me problems as I shoot in different conditions. I have spent my fare share of time behind many different bolt guns, and I want one that is capable of holding .25 MOA. Money isn't really and issue, but I want some feedback from others who have experience with the AX rifle and custom built guns. Thanks.

I've owned about them all and still own more than my share of AI's. I love the simple, no frills, always works, just shoot it til the barrel wears out and screw on another in your garage AX.

If money is no issue then its a no brainer. AX for sure. You will never regret the purchase.

There is NOTHING a custom build can offer that a AX dosent already offer plus a lot more. Even of price was a major factor I would say AX. (Although I am more of a TRG fan my self, I have to admit the AX is the tip of the spear!)

An AX is the king of the hill, the only negative I have with mine is that it is a bit on the heavy side. If you are looking for a solid gun for a reasonable price check out the TRG. If I am going to hunt or carry my gun around for an extended period the TRG is what I take.

+1 on this. After looking at all the other stock/chassis options out there and the associated costs to make them relatively equal to one another (bedding,pillars,dbm,adjustable cheek/LOP,folder,etc), the TRG was and is the turn key economical one stop choice IMHO. I was this close to going with an AX chassis myself but as Adam stated, at 18lbs it's on the heavy side but it is damn sexy looking. I wasn't too keen on the TRG looks but after crunching numbers,weight and functionality it ended up looking pretty good to me and being my final choice. It also helped that Justin from TRG promptly answered all of my questions and the Black Friday sale they had cinched it. With that said, I still dig the way the AX looks.

The weight to me seems to be distributed extremely well. When mine came in, I thought my ffl was messing with me by hiding the rifle and letting me open an empty box, but it was in there. Its definitely lighter then my old AW was or the weight is just better distributed.
I can balance my AX from the little forearm in the middle. However, I think the only way I would want to hunt with the AX is with a 16" switch barrel.

I think .25 moa is a tall order for a tactical type rifle. Not many can do that "all day long" - fewer shooters can.
That said, an AX or AW sounds like the no brainer for you. Renowned for "just working", and as accurate (or more so) than any tactical rifle. Because money isn't an issue for you, all you need to do is decide what cartridge your AI should be chambered in.

Thanks for all the advice! I'm not worried about the weight so I went with the AX and a s&b 5-25x59 with h59 reticle. I can't wait to shoot it!
