AI AXMC VS AI AT

The AT comes with a 1 in 12 twist barrel, and the AXMC comes with a 1 in 10, so their might be a significant difference with the heavier bullet weights. You can buy several fast twist barrels with the savings though. ;)

That being said, I have the AXMC and don’t regret it.

Some people get AXMC confused with its little brother the AX.

Are you asking about the AX Short Action vs AT?

Or are you asking about the AXMC which can run both long action and short action vs an AT in short action?

I had the AT SA and then got the AX just because I liked the buttstock better then the AT. Other than that both shoot great, you can always get what ever barrel you want. I only run the 6br on my gun.

AXMC owners tend to repeat themselves :ROFLMAO:

My bad. Fat fingered double post from my iPad. Corrected.

OP,
What I hope you take from this is, if you want an AI to shoot the long action calibers, get AXMC. If you want all the bells and whistles, but only in short action calibers, get an AX308. If you’re only interested in short action, and the AT checks all the boxes for you, get one. You won’t go wrong. You can pick your budget, or pick your features, they are all accurate, consistent, durable rifles. I bet if you set up one of each, and shot a group blindfolded, you wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. ;)

Thanks! So far I'm not loving reloading magnums. Do it for hunting rifles but doing it in volume I like to shoot with 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor just not ringing my bell so far. Also ranges longer than 600yds are few and far between in my neck of the woods. So I'm going to enjoy my AX guilt free. The extra dollars to shoot shorties in an AXMC just seemed a bridge too far for me.

You may see a difference AX rifles come with Bartlien barrels ATs come with an overseas barrel.

5rds 100yds 175GMM overseas AT barrel. Shot within the first 20rds down the tube.
