I have an AIAT that I am looking to swap out the 308 barrel with a new 6.5 and I am looking to rent an action wrench.
Does anyone have one that I can use for a single barrel swap?

I 2nd ShtrRdy No action wrench should ever be needed on an AT. If you are unsure watch one of the YouTube video's that show a barrel change. When you put new barrel in make sure to torque at 50 to 55 inch pounds. I use a preset 6nm ( 53 inch pound) T handle wrench so its the same every time.

I just changed out a 2014 AI-AX non-quick change and found the VIPER barrel vise was WAY BETTER then the Wheeler with the wood blocks. The VIPER was the best by far of the 3 types of barrel vises i have used. I just torqued all 4 bolts to 45 foot pound and barrel came right off.

Yes i was totally amazed at how much better it was then the Wheeler. I have changed 6 barrels in both my AI-AX and AI-AE and the VIPER was better and left no marks on the the barrel on the install either.

Viper is alright. SAC is 10x better than the Viper. This sounds dumb but i hated dealing with those 4 bolts on the viper. Also if you ever have to, for whatever reason, remove a factory barrel from a Tikka or Remington you'll wish you had something stronger than a Viper. I've literally bent mine trying to break free a couple different factory barrels.

Agreed but the price difference is staggering. The viper is the best vise in the normal vise price bracket. The SAC vise is on another level.
