AIAW barrel change

Need some help changing my barrel.

First off I ordered the Sinclair barrel vise that uses the bushings about six months ago to remove a barrel from my SAC AICS. Aside from a little scuffing, everything worked out pretty well. Well now I have procurred another barrel that I wanted to try on my AIAW. The only problem that I have now is none of the bushings that I have now fit close to the standard AI barrel contour (~.850) or the new barrel (~1.000). I called Sinclair to order new bushings but they say that they don't carry anything close enough to those sizes that will work.

Anybody use this barrel vise to remove barrels? If so what bushings did you use? Ideas other than sending the vise back to Sinclair and getting one of V shaped vises?

have a local machine shop drill you some out of aluminum bet they can do it in 15minutes or less

Any idea on what this might cost? Or where I could find an aluminum block that size?

I would just go ahead and buy a different vice. Look at the Ken Farrell.

Just get a V vise. I've heard good things about the Tubb Vise too.

Tubb Vise is money for changing AI barrels. Its what I use.
