Gunsmithing AICS 1.5 plus .223? Worth it?

I've got a R700 in .223 that I got from a relative. He had a fair amount of work done to it previously, and it sits in a varminter stock. I'm not a big fan of them, but I was thinking of throwing it into an AICS 1.5.

Would it be a waste of time? Should I just go for a .308/6.5 Creedmore/??? instead?

Hey Pete, I have a spare 1-8 twist M24 contour Rock barrel we could put on it and you would have something similar to my .223AI and AI is making the 223 mags for them now too so why not???

I shoot alot of cartridges.. The fast twist 223s and 223AIs easily remain my favorites. I say DO IT!

That's funny because I checked out your website and saw you have the mags coming out soon, and it made me start to think of this!

It's a 1/12 twist right now that shoots 55-ish grs pretty well.

Varmint profile, I believe, is what it has.

Therein lies the question. I don't shoot at all anymore, but I hope to in the near future. Plus, I'd like to have a prairie dog/varmint rifle that's easy and cheap to shoot.

If you like the aics then i'd say go for it!

Should be a sweet pd killer!
