I can not get my cleaning rod in the tube with the gun in the chassis. Anyone else have this issue. I was having issues with the eye relief being able to get down on it and was about to change my base and rings out but dont want to now if this stock is going to be a pain in the butt to clean my rifle in.

Re: AICS 700 issues

If you don't have the AI knobs for locking the cheek piece down with instead of the Allen bolts, get them. They are worth the $25.00. As said before, you must remove the cheek rest for cleaning. Both of mine are set very low with.885 NF rings, and it's just perfect.

this. i will only use 2.0's from now on and eventually want to trade out of my last 1.5.

Re: AICS 700 issues

Do you guys shoot with the cheek pad off? It prevents me from being able to see through the scope properly. Thinking about changing out my 0 moa base for a 20 moa base. Does anyone know if this will make a big enough difference? I just want to be able to see through the scope properly.

Thanks!

Re: AICS 700 issues

I think you'll find shooting with the cheek piece off to be very uncomfortable. You could try removing it and replacing it with a stock pad similar to this http://www.triadtactical.com/Triad-Stock-Pack.html It might get you a bit lower to the stock. There isn't going to be a huge difference between a 0 and a 20 MOA base unless you purchase a Ken Farrell base. His are thicker than most. Or just get taller rings.

Re: AICS 700 issues

If you are struggling to get down low enough on the stock then you really need to look at either swapping out the rings for a higher set or changing the stock. Swapping a 0 MOA rail for a 20 MOA is not really going to add very much unless you look at a Farrell which sits higher than most as Badshot has already suggested.

Removing the cheek piece for cleaning is really a non issue surely?

Re: AICS 700 issues

I picked up a Ken F. 20 MOA base in the used section as well as a used set of Medium rings. I sent a message to a hide member about the cheek peice as well. I am going to see if the base alone will fix being able to get down on the scope. If not, i will try the rings as well.

thanks for all of your help!
