Rifle Scopes Aimpoint CompM3 or Eotech EXPS-3?

<span style="font-size: 11pt"><span style="font-family: 'Georgia'">I have narroed it down between the <span style="font-style: italic">Aimpoint CompM3</span> or the <span style="font-style: italic">Eotech EXPS-3.</span>
I would Appreciate opinions and feedback from individuals who own Either of these 2 optics?
<span style="text-decoration: underline">I would Truly Appreciate opinions and Feedback from individuals who own or have used both the Aimpoint CompM3 and the Eotech EXPS-3?</span>
I will be using the optic with Night Vision and I find the Aimpoint T1 slightly to small.

Have the CompML3 2 MOA, and have used the Eotech. Wish I had gone with the Eotech as I much prefer the finer aiming point.

I'm a fan of eotech and their standard reticle. I have owned and used several different models xps, 512, 516 etc... I have no experience using them with night vision though, and can't attest to how they perform in those situations.

One thing to consider is possible future use of a magnifier. I learned too late. The aimpoint, which i absolutely LOVE, is a great optic! BUT, if you plan on running any type of magnifier on you NVG then you will be better served with the Eotech. I have noticed that when i run a MIL 3x magnifier on my PVS-14 that my dot on the aimpoint is very "out of round" almost football shaped. Without getting into to much detail it has to do with F-stop, just like in a camera, its how much light can pass thru the tube and into the NVG. If you want to run a magnifier then i would recommend the eotech, if not, i would recommend the aimpoint. I will look to see if i can find some pics to post of what im talking about.

Ok I'm going to go against the above and say Aimpoint with out a doubt. I have not experience the "out of round" condition 19d states.I'm sure he sees it I just never has

Now this is said tounge in cheek but LAV supports my position that Aimpoint is better!!!

Had both. Had an eotech first, sold it and bought an aimpoint. Didn't like it for the reason stated above - narrow FOV. Went back to eotech several years back and haven't looked back. Only potential drawback is battery life and size (but that's only on the T-1).

Running a COMP ML3 on my work rifle for the last five years, along with hundreds of others here too. We use them, beat them, constantly leave them on, and all around treat them like a red-headed step child. They work, retain zero (Badger MAX-50 Rings), and have less than a 2% failure rate over that period, IEDs excluded. The handful of EOTechs over here can't come anywhere near being able to say that, but that's a much smaller sampling so take it for what it may be worth.

Biggest thing that happens to them is some people find a way to rip the power knob off, but it's nothing some Loctite doesn't fix.

This one is really tough. I own both. And love both for different reasons...

Eotech: (I own a EXPS3-4)
Pros:
I feel it is more rugged
Quick acquisition (For me over Aimpoint)
BDC
cons:
Shorter battery life
need angled charging handle to run on a scar


Aimpoint
Pros:
Finer control of brightness
Lighter Package
Sightly cheaper.
Still have very fast acquisition

My advice, Try to get your eyes behind both, with live fire.

In speaking about the "out of round" dot, i was referring only to when using the NVGs with a magnifier attached. I primarily own Aimpoint Micro T-1s But the eotech has its place when run with a magnifier attached to the PVS-14. I would recommend that you call Victor at TNVC and see what he recommends. He would be able to give you an excellent recommendation as to what would best fit your needs.

I support looking through both of them with the NV you intend to use.

Its a tough call, I struggled with also (sooooo many new gadgets, soooo few dollars).

Durability mattered to me, and that video was convincing.

If NV matters to you, I think you gotta try them with NV.

I prefer the EXPS3 series to anything else, and currently have two of them. On my issue M4 I have a EOTech 553 even though my choices also include a SpecterDR and Aimpoint Comp M4.
