So this forum has been amazing with the information it has provided me thus far. Figured that if anyone could help me out it would be you guys.

I have an AK and absolutely love it. I have done quite a bit to it so far and am still tinkering. About to get the Kreb enhanced safety lever.

The only issue I have is with reloads. I am sick of having my thumbs chewed to hell after a day of shooting. I am hoping to find a system that provides a quick, easy release. I don't expect anything like an AR system but something close would be great. I know that Kreb has a magazine ejection system they install on some of their more advanced rifles but I cannot find anything about having it done to an existing rifle.
I would prefer something that I can install myself but would be willing to send the rifle off to be worked on if it was a high quality system.

Thanks

Re: AK-47 Magazine Ejection System

STOP USING YOUR THUMB!

The most effective mag release/change technique I have found through training on an AK is to use front/leading edge of the fresh mag to push the paddle release forward while in the same motion using the fresh mag to knock out the spent mag, then after your follow-through, insert the fresh mag and continue firing. Simple, one-hand operation, quick and easy and you can keep your rifle on target and ready to go without lowering, fumbling or otherwise screwing around with anything. You can also use your weak hand over the top or under the rifle to charge the rifle if you run it dry (if you do run it completely dry...don't do that any more

) or to clear any malfunctions.

I'm not much on screwing with a system that has worked effectively for decades and decades and really doesn't "need" upgrades for releasing/changing mags, but if you must add options like the EMA release or other "add ons" please be sure to put them through their paces before you rely on them in competition or "otherwise."
