Guys I've got a local customer who wants to put a side scope base/rail on his ak but he doesn't want to permantly modify his gun. I've seen them in the past where the base reuses the trigger pin holes to mount it, but for the life of me I can't find one. Can someone point me in the right direction to ethier a manufacturer that makes one or to a company that sells them.

    Thanks,

    Robert

Thanks for the link but he's wanting to be able to use a std ak scope with mount.

It may not be what he is looking for; but an Ultimak gas tube is a nice option. It has a rail on top and you can mount a red-dot scope like an Aimpoint H-1 and still be able to co-witness the iron sights.

I once saw a B movie where the camera had a 3rd person view of a guy holding an AK, aiming down iron sights. Then it went to first person view and he was looking through a tube with magnification and an illuminated reticle. I recommend one of those.

Then he needs to have an AK rail riveted to the side of the receiver. Can't think of any other way to do it.

I'm not sure from reading your post, but I thinks your customers rifle does not have the side mount in place.

If it does have the side mount and you are just looking for a rail, try this one from classic arms.

Here is the link to the page. Link here

About 3/4 of the way down the page. Never used one, but it looks like it would give you more options.
