All New Iray RH25 V2

I've personally used the Trijicon M250, M300W, NVision Nox, AGM stingIR, Iray MH25 with the FLCOS, and the newer MH25 with the OLED, one of the only FLIR Breach 640 12 BOSON, and the Iray RH25 and RH25 V2.

I've used them as hand held, helmet mounted, weapon sighted, as well as clip on "if applicable" and I always tell guys my favorite thermal to date was the RH25. Now I have to admit it's the RH25V2.

As you can see in the pics, it boasts a huge ocular lens, giving you an amazing amount of forgiveness in eye relief, and allowing you at least a 5X mag when using as a clip on. I don't know exactly how much the display has actually grown, but I do know it's significantly larger than the V1, easily noticeable when compared side by side.
When I unboxed the unit, my first thoughts were the weight. I didn't know all the specs at the time so I weighed it with the pictail and the lens cover along with an 18650 in comparison to the Rh25 V1, The V1 weighed in at 13.7oz and the V2 is 12.7oz. I guess going to the machined magnesium body gave it a slight edge in weight reduction.
The other nice upgrade was the USB-C charge/data transfer port. I personally didn't have any issues using the 18650 batteries, as I would carry a spare in my agilite bridge, but now we may be entertaining the option using the unit with an external power source. The new V2 also has audio, which is amazing for us now you'll hear everything.
Another upgrade to note is the polarity, the polarity is on the same level as the RS75, TX60 and RH50R, which is the best I've seen in any thermal unit.
At a price that is 1K under the OG RH25 this is gonna be an a$$ kicker fellas. 5K for the new V2 is well worth it IMHO.
There is also the significant upgrades to the RL25 V2, with it's major talkingpoint being the ability to use it as a clip-on as well, and at a 3K pricepoint.
I have been using this for some time now and have a dozen coming to inventory this week.
I will also be doing a full review of this unit along with my personal helmet set up and a side by side comparison to the RH25's V1 and V2.

I've never ran the Voodoo, but have a few Skeet skeets... I absolutely preferred the RH25, now with the V2 upgrades, it's even better.

I got one of the V2s in today. Been getting the hand of the interface for a couple hours, and it's a pretty rad unit. I have a coyote problem at the farm that is going to start getting solved tonight.

I've used a bunch of thermals, but heavily leaning towards issued gov stuff. Early fusion goggle, HISS, INOD, all the various PAS13s, CNVD-T, any number of random clip-ons and handhelds...after I retired I haven't kept up with it other than a brief period of owning a HALO and a Nox from NVision. I wasn't ever happy with lower-end commercial stuff, so I kind of gave up a few years ago and just used whatever a buddy loaned me if I needed something.

Man, this thing is impressive...the image quality and sensitivity is bananas for the price. I tried it in front of a Mark 6 3-18, Razor 1-6, NX8 1-8, ATACR 1-8, Short Dot, and even a T2 and I think it's fine at 6X and usable but outrunning it's resolution at 8X, which jives with what iRay tells you. The controls are intuitive. It has a shuttered NUC feature so you can NUC it without covering the OBJ, and it will do it automatically. Unless I'm doing something wrong, it NUCs quite often and freezes the image for a second, which I don't like so I need to go in and turn that off. You can do a manual NUC with a cover and save some battery because the shutter doesn't close, which is what I'm used to on most units.

The BT remote is very cool too, I can let someone unfamiliar with the optic get behind the gun and run the settings with the remote and iPhone viewer app. I usually hunt with a partner, it will be cool to throw them behind the gun and them not have to fuss with the equipment. The QD mount works well, but I wish it was ~1.5" instead of 1.93". I can always easily raise it but I need $350 of parts from ADM to lower it. That said, minor inconvenience, and it will let me helmet mount it also.

I'm a little behind the times admittedly, but I gotta think this thing is a bargain for $5K. I'm sure it's pinging the mothership in China every time I connect to my phone but if they want to see me shoot rabbits with my .22 they're more than welcome.

Non Uniformity Calibration. Most of the the time your image eventually gets compromised to an extent when using thermal. Sometimes you have to perform this function more often that others, whether it be different manufacturers, or different conditions. I set all mine to manual, so it's a simple button press and and it'll wipe the screen. I hardly ever if at all NUC my RH25's, not really a reason to, although it's kind of second nature for us to do it as an automatic op before we kill, just because we are filming and want the clearest possible image. (whether it needs to actually be done or not).

How was it with the 3-18? Contemplating trying it in front of a 4-16 atacr but not sure how well it would work. Would love it if it would work with the 4-16 and a 5-27

Works easy with the MK5 3.6-18, I've also used it a lot with my NX8 2.5-20 and will support up to an 8x optical.

I’ll have to try and get hands on local and see how it looks in front of them. If it looks good, think this could be the thermal for me
