critique my paper poppers classifier.

I only need one more "good" Limited classifier to "make master", although A class would be fine. I'm B in Limited now.

I am just a C class hack so I got nothing beyond that .

Good run but smoothing it out will get you into A class.

It's CM 03-05.

Upon start signal, engage either Array 1, or Array 2,
perform a mandatory reload and engage the second array.
Paper requires two rounds each and steel must fall to score.
A mandatory reload is required whenever changing arrays.
Array 1 = paper; Array 2 = steel.

I think that flinch/draw may have cost me a little time but I still went 6.44 3 Alpha, 1 Charlie and 6 steel.

The reload was well over 2 seconds and a good place to shave some time as was the draw. Good double taps on the paper judging by the hits. The splits on the steel were around .45 sec. and you need to get them down to around .25 to get past A class.

This is pretty impressive and I wonder if he's shooting minor(looks like a Beretta to me)? The draw and reload look awesome. I need more practice on those things for sure.

One minor point...you need to get that gun higher on the reload. Get it in your face where you can see it.

You can see me screw up a lot of things on this channel, and even in this video (shooting my gun dry because I reloaded too early), but the first reload is actually executed decently.

too much gun movement on the reload. Keep the pistol up in a shooting position, bring the mag to the gun...

Other than that it looked good.

Slow is smooth, smooth is quick.

There are quite a few mistakes but most of them fall into the category of wasted movement. Both your draw and reload have excess movement in them that is eating a couple tenths of a second every time you do them.


You have probably seen this RELOAD before, but instead of focusing Travis' speed, focus on the complete lack of any movement that is unnecessary and then compare with your video. I think you will catch what I am talking about.

Thanks for the advice! I have seen that video before but couldn't remember that it was Tomasie. I have dummy rounds loaded for weight when I do my dry fire and reload drills. Dry fire practice the night before a match sure helps a ton. I think this will be a good year for my IPSC life! Now I gotta load until I run out of powder, bullets, primers or brass!
