Kicking Ass Somewhere
Don't let that distract you from the fact that In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The A-Team.

Right about now I wouldn't mind sending B.A. Baracus and the boys to my in-laws to "talk" to them about their messing with my life by constantly needing my wife to fix theirs. Grrrr. One of those days.

yeppers on the PITA inlaws. Bout finished being nice as soon as the papers are signed......... they can kiss my ass, I'll ride my pony on my boat out on the sea.....

i F'ing hate people who can never make time and try to win kids by buying them cheap shitty toys. I remember about 5 things I was given as a kid. And about 10,000 memories of experiences that shaped me. Even the first time I was made to till the garden under in the spring.
Spend time and make memories. like that Trace Adkins song "she thinks we're just fishin".

I pity the fool!

BTW, this Coronado Brewing Stingray IPA is tasty. Just cracked my second and am quite pleased. Frickin been rainin all day at my condo right on the beach.

Love some of these threads how they take surprising turns. Makes me shake my head at all those overly modded sites where threads are moved, closed, and posts deleted for being "off topic". Calguns is like that. But I have no choice but to check in from time to time to make sure there hasn't been a law change that could make me a criminal unless I destroy some of my property or ship it out of state. Yes, it happens all the time.

Back on point, just a couple days ago I sent a story to my wife about rich parents buying their kids shit but otherwise ignoring them. I try to cherish every freaking minute with my kid. It goes by so fast it makes my head spin. I grew up poor AND neglected (only by dad, mom was very active in telling me she hated me and wished I were dead (is that an overshare?)) So in my case, it would have been great if one of them had bribed me and left me alone rather than beat and berate me.

My wife always shakes her head at kids, especially girls, who seem so messed up these days. Wife says kids really need BOTH parents. I couldn't agree more.

I must confess that my wife and I do buy our kid too much shit. But we interact with our child constantly and homeschool. The toys are barely even touched. I think we can't help it because wife unit grew up poor too. In other words, we're not really buying the toys because our child wants them, we're buying them for us. Because they're things and moments we didn't get to experience growing up. Hope that makes sense and we don't look too ridiculous.

Finally, we live in the craft beer capital of America. Love to experiment, but that Ballast Point Sculpin is so good and so easy to enjoy we always roll back to it. Stone Double Bastard is still probably my favourite, but limited and seasonal availability. Where are you located Powdahound?

good post...

All they ever needed was dirt bikes. Take away the phone. Immerse them in sports, get them a part time job even if they are tweens. And above all nurture & supervise
Oh yeah....get them a kayak too.

All the thousands of rounds fired all throughout that series and I don't think there was ever an episode where anyone got shot. I bet that show also inspired many viewers to become Mini 14/30 owners. ;)

Long story short, my general manager had me interview a guy last week. In about 2 minutes he told me he had a family so I asked him about his kids, a boy 6 and a girl 4, his wife is a stay at home mom. I thought back to my childhood at 6 (I was and still am a boy) and asked him if his son built box forts. That lit him up, we talked about anything but work for 15 minutes. He limits the kids access to 'technology' and makes them use their imagination. In short, he's a team member in two weeks. I hope I get to teach his sone to play with matches :)... before him.

I think that "The Equalizer" might have been a better choice. Besides his Jag was way cooler than that crappy-assed van.

Cheers

Im from Denver area, on vaca this week in San Diego in Mission Beach. I thought about having the soon-to-be ex stay home (she couldnt swing a vaca as a solo parent with no help) but had her come along. Its not about her or me, its about our kid, who is awesome!

I agree, kids need more outside. Just today after several hours outside my kid wanted to watch tv. So we let her for a bit and then went back on the beach to watch the sunset and hang. It was an ok sunset and an awesome time.

My kid spends a lot of time on her bike, at the park, taekwondo, and playing in the yard. We go camping a lot and all of "her and me" vacations are focused on being outside. Headed to AK fishing for 10 days in july just her and dad!

Mike, Lyle does have it. I was given some 14th row tickets to him last fall at Fiddlers Green in Denver and it was so awesome. EmmyLou Harris was supposed to be there too and cancelled for a reason I dont know. That was a bummer.

Nice additions gentleman

Agree gentlemen. Get those kids outside. My 12 year old son with me in tow in the wagon headed into the timber to pick up the last of this seasons firewood.
