Im looking for a QD offset mount for my AR. I got to looking and the American Defense looked like it would fit the bill.

How is the QD capability? Does it return to zero?

How is the quality of these mounts? Ive looked at reviews and can't find any bad ones.

Thanks

Re: American Defense Mounts?

We just started selling them and everyone that has bought one has been pleased. I have not used one personally yet but plan to on one of our 3Gun ARs. Just visually inspecting them they appear to be very well engineered and manufactured.

Re: American Defense Mounts?

I recently got my first one to replace a LaRue Aimpoint mount because I didn't know that all LaRue Aimpoint mounts have a lower 1/3rd cowitness. I got the ADM standard height Aimpoint mount and like it a lot. The lever was easy to adjust and I like how there is much more contact with the rail. I don't know about "repeatability" as I'm not one to remove and remount optics unnecessarily.

Re: American Defense Mounts?

If you can keep the parts down like a one piece setup I would go with that. Plus I have never owned a pair of Warne rings that return to zero. I have never owned an American Defense mount but I have seen them on friends guns and they do return to zero. I run Larue which is like the American Defense mount and it always returns to zero. Keep it simple and keep what works.

Re: American Defense Mounts?

I have one and should be posting a review in a couple weeks.

It's a great piece, well made and the only thing I have left to do is run an RTZ test.

It holds zero just fine (as long as you set lever tension correctly) I just need to see if it returns reliably before I recommend it.

Re: American Defense Mounts?

What is the width of the ADM 35mm rings along the optical axis?

Trying to determine whether the ADM Recon or ADM ReconS is workable with the IOR 2-12x36 Spartan 35mm. The IOR is ~1.20" (30mm) between the turret and the adjustment ring.

Re: American Defense Mounts?

I had not asked them for the width of the ring, but I did ask for the distance between the rings. The answer was:

DISTANCE IS ONLY 2.525. THE AD-RECON-S-W IS 3.250 WIDE.

THANKS,

The AD-RECON S-W was designed with the IORs in mind, and it would work on a US Optics T-PAL also, which is why I wanted it. They were supposed to release it in late March, but have not given me an update.

Re: American Defense Mounts?

I purchased a used older (gen 1) ADM Aimpoint mount off of another board. When it arrived the threaded sleeves that screws go into to were either stripped or loose.

I did not get right on it and it sat in a box for about another 18 months.

3 weeks ago I called them and explained that it was old, used and defective. They said "No problem, send it in and we will ship out our latest version."

This is my second ADM Aimpoint mount and I am a happy camper.

Good luck

Scott from Liberty Optics measured the ADM 35mm rings & quoted:

Looks like I'll be getting the ADM Recon-35 and the Recon-PB-35 (for the IOR 1x/4x32). The width between the turret and Adjustment ring for the Pitbull is even narrower at 0.79" (20mm).

Re: American Defense Mounts?

I have been selling these for a while now and have had nothing but good comments from customers. The recon mounts should be available with a 20moa option soon as well.

Pros: No wrench or loctite needed to adjust for different rail widths. Not made of cast pot metal so the lever doesn’t break on a out of spec rail. Great price and availability.

Cons: No cool swag in the box.
