American Eagle

Re: American Eagle

I used quite a bit of it when I took my students out shooting. It was cheaper and they were about to purchase quite a few boxes of it. Shot it out of my 2 Rem 700s. After some quick and dirty classes on trigger pull, proper positions, and Mil-Dots they were off shooting. I was spotting them and telling them where to hold and every one of them hit a gong (person shaped, not sure of the actual size) at 600. It took them 3-4 to get on target then it was off to the races. They loved it.

Would it be my go to round, no, but if I need to teach someone or try to get someone in the game I would say that ammo does the job.

Re: American Eagle

It is decent enough ammo for range/practice use, but you aren't going to win any comps with it. It is consistent and reliable ammo. Accuracy will vary depending on your rifle, but out of most quality bolt action rifles, it will get 1.5MOA or slightly better. I have run some through an AR-10 carbine and it was sub-2MOA at 200yds. Again, nothing to write home about, but its cheap and goes bang when you squeeze the trigger.

AE is Federal through and through (all made by ATK). AE is just ATK's "cheaper" commercial branded of ammo.
