I know this may not matter to some, but everything else on my rifles are made in the land of the free, and I'm not going to quit when it comes to the scopes...could we get a list together of anerican made scopes?

From my understanding no scope has US made glass, it’s all Chinese Japanese German exc.. I don’t think there is glass made in America.

Plenty of glass manufacturers make glass in the US. It is somewhat high end though, so you seldom see it in commercial products.

Vortex AMG optical system is US made.

If I remember correctly, Frank (Lowlight) took a tour of where Vortex gets their glass for the AMG. It is my understanding that the glass is made here, not just ground and coated. The AMG is 99% made in USA, it can't have foreign glass to be 99%.

There's also a distinct difference between "Made in USA" and "Assembled in USA". Made in USA requires that a minimum of 75% of the product be manufactured here (unless sold to the gov't then it's 50%). Assembled in USA only requires that the product be assembled here, and parts and materials can come from anywhere.

Leupold may be assembled here, but not made here (anymore). Burris was at one point all American made including the glass.

they would be like the lockness monster something of myth like american car company chevy = mexico ford chrysler/ both get so many parts for there from china cars they cant be called american anymore they assemble in America , they are not American made anything . If they are amican then honda and toyota are american . Its like calling taco bell meat real well its skin ground up something meat like , so is it stake?

I thought I read that too as they were having problems with the US supplier.

Made in USA doesn't necessarily mean it's the best product OP.

That's not the point. I don't have to have the best. We can pretty much all agree that German glass is best, I like the kahles skmr reticle best, but I like knowing that my scope help put food on an American family's table! The only way stuff is going to be manufactured here is if we buy stuff made here!

Always been happy to see the big “MADE IN USA” on my NF NXS F1 scope.

Recently had my boss wanting to do the same, he wanted a scope under $400 but made in USA. He wasn’t too pleased when I told him he would need to up his budget to $2,000+. He’s the guy that is happy with a Barska scope on a $2,000 Rifle and says I’m crazy to put a $1,800 scope on a $1,000 Rifle.

I think if it is a high enough percentage to have MADE IN USA stamped on it then I'll call it American made. In today's market there are very few things in the world that are 100% made here. Which is sad.

That was my line of thinking a while back. I ended up with two USO scopes. As you have seen by some of the replies here, some folks are gonna knitpick over every little detail, and i guess that’s ok as we learn from that now and then. But my uso scopes do what i need, my only complaint is i wish the illum adjusted down to a usable level after dark....it’s just too bright. Other than that, i am very happy with them.

I try to buy american made products when i can. I am not set in stone on that, but i try. Auto parts, home supplies, on and on. Many times, if you check name brand shit, it’s made elsewhere. The generic stuff often times is made in the uS-i find this to be the case with auto parts many times.

I have 2 uso scopes as well and I'm in the same boat, they may not be the newest, latest, greatest out but they have always done what I needed. I recently sold my er25 and will be replacing it in a couple months. The new uso sk30 looks pretty good but who knows when it will be out

Does anyone have allthese put together in a single source? I don't personaly mind if a good quality scope assembled in the US vs made in US. sound like burris, some NF, Vortex amg, Leupold, USO either made or assembled in US. the new ZCO is at least assembled here but I think parts made in Austria?

ATACR F1 line is stamped made in USA. I’m not sure about the SFP version of the ATACR, I suspect Japan like the NXS line, excluding the F1. Someone who has one should be able to verify.

Didn't I just read that USOptics is now made in China. There was a article and the tone of shoot show

They’re going to need to change their name a bit, if that is the case. I seriously can’t see them doing that. I know they source components from other countries, but to up and ship manufacturing to China doesn’t sound right for USO.
