I have been using the Federal Premium Gold Medal 300 Winchester Magnum Ammo 215 Grain Berger Hybrid OTM ammunition for my Barrett MRAD, with excellent results. Unfortunately, they have discontinued this ammo and is extremely hard to find. I am looking for some other options out there with the heavier grain bullet with similar ballistics to the MK248 Mod 1.

I see that Freedom Munitions and Barnes makes a 220 grain OTM round and wondering if anyone has experience with these or does anyone have some suggestions.

Thank you

I've been out of the long range game for a good while, my current rifle is a 458 lott, so, opposite, short-range stopper.

But places like Copper Creek Ammo have heavy for caliber ammo, I don't know their reputation anymore but when I ordered from them about 10 or so years ago, everything was great.

I use ammo companies like them these days because I shoot a 500 S&W and I don't reload, so I use custom ammo makers to get more of what I want in a round. Haven't had any issues though the current companies I use won't help you as they don't load for long range rifle.

So you may look at Copper Creek and even check and see if there are others similar to them, perhaps you'll get some more recommendations here.

Berger used to make a factory 215 for the 300 win mag. I used to buy them before I started reloading. Hornandy makes some 190 grain ammo, but you are probably like me and want something slightly heavier. I have shot a little of the copper creek ammo, and seemed fine in my 300 WM. It was the 210 berger VLD hunting load. A little slower than my hand loads but was accurate. I only shot a couple boxes of their ammo though, so no term report to give. Unknown munitions still has some on their website. I have never tried any so nothing to report other than they sell it.
