An Interesting read… I remember hearing about the Boom… not the aftermath!

Well they gotta find “guilty people “ to fill in holes for their “operatives” that are truly guilty- like the fbi did in Boston- for Whitey and the marathon bombing brothers .insert any city / person you want in hey are all “known to the fbi”

Remember Richard Jewel who the FBI railroaded when he was the innocent security guard hero of the Atlanta Olympic bombing?

Well, the ATF did it again in the 2000’s… to an EMT/firefighter….

Wonder how many of them are senior agents now? When they should have been fired…

I remember the bombing well. When the bombing happened I was building an aircraft hangar for a client. The client wanted the hangar door to be remote controlled, which was not available at the time. One of the company pilots that was good with electronics went to Radio Shack and bought some parts and built one.
Now as an even stranger coincidence he was on a layover in Georgia when he did this. It wound up he bought some of the same parts as were used to build the bomb controller. We received several visits from the ATF, they traced him from the credit card.
I remember looking out and black SUV's pulling into the job site and men in suits getting out.

Credit where credit is due: that is impressive investigation work. Especially tracing parts back in the 90s when nowhere near as much stuff was computerized.

That said, why not just send one guy to the facility to conduct an investigation and ask some questions? Why flood in a whole bunch of black SUVs and swarm a place unless you’re trying to Act like it’s some kind of giant red that is not necessary.

This is what keeps getting them in trouble. Publicity stunts. These upper management types that want to be Delta force and think everything should be a high profile raid need to be expunged.

I get it that the Olympic Park bombing was a big deal. But lives were ruined through utterly incompetent investigative response. Not incompetent investigating: incompetent response to half-baked facts.

There should be no excuse for that ever.

G. Gordon Liddy never spoke highly of the ATF. Always said they were idiots & unqualified to carry a gun. :ROFLMAO:

G. Gordon Liddy - Controversial Statements

Controversial Statements
  • August 26, 1994: Now if the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms comes to disarm you and they are bearing arms, resist them with arms. Go for a head shot; they're going to be wearing bulletproof vests." ... "They've got a big target on there, ATF. Don't shoot at that, because they've got a vest on underneath that. Head shots, head shots.... Kill the sons of bitches.
  • September 15, 1994: If the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms insists upon a firefight, give them a firefight. Just remember, they're wearing flak jackets and you're better off shooting for the head.
Liddy claimed that his detractors omit some important context:
I was talking about a situation in which law enforcement agents come smashing into a house, don't say who they are and their guns are out, they're shooting and they're in the wrong place. This has happened time and time again. The ATF has gone in and gotten the wrong person in the wrong place. The law is that if somebody is shooting at you, using deadly force, the mere fact that they are a law enforcement officer, if they are in the wrong, does not mean you are obliged to allow yourself to be killed so your kinfolk can have a wrongful death action. You are legally entitled to defend yourself and I was speaking of exactly those kind of situations. If you're going to do that, you should know that they're wearing body armor so you should use a head shot. Now all I'm doing is stating the law, but all the nuances in there got left out when the story got repeated.

With the Feds, everything is a publicity stunt.
