Greetings! I've been shooting since my twenties, so call it four decades. Been reloading almost as long. I've been mostly a handgun guy but always had rifles around, I thought a long rifle shot was 100 yards until I lived in the boonies, and started blasting at stuff as far away as I could see it, probably out to 600 yards or so. (I did that with pistols, too.) I became a weapons instructor with my last PD, have enjoyed teaching women the blasting arts for many years, and I still do it as a public service.
Lately I've decided to stretch my legs a bit, and have invested in a few new rifles. One is a 218 Mashburn Bee I'm having built in a Contender G1, another is a Tikka T3 I'm having rebuilt into a 6mm Norma BR, and I just picked up a Remington 700 AAC in 308. My club range goes to 400 yards, which is about as far as I can see bullet holes with these old eyes, and I'm retired so my budget is pretty thin. But I've been laying in stashes of powder and primers and bullets for years, so I'm set for awhile. I've been reading here for awhile and decided to join, though I have to admit I've been enjoying the titties and memes thread as much as anything else.
I like to write about things I know something about, but this long-range stuff is a bit out of my league, so you likely won't see me posting a lot, but I'll be here, sniffing around in the background. I like trading recipes with fellow reloaders, and I'll try not to ask questions that have been answered a hundred times before. But reading kinda puts me to sleep, so I'll try not to be a pest.
Politically, I'm well to the right of John Birch, so I should fit in here pretty well. I just ordered a hat that says, "Joe and The Ho Gotta Go".
